Pantuso’s Ristorante Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I had duly low expectations for a hotel restaurant. However, the food and service here was fantastic. The waitstaff was super attentive and informative. Our party ordered a large made-to-order pizza to share, the "Pantuso's Supreme". Hands down, the most flavorful, substantial pizza I have had in a long while. The sausage was so well-cooked it dissolved in our mouths. Later, we had finished and retreated to our hotel when we decided to go for a walk. When we passed the now-closed restaurant, our waitress from earlier saw us and ran out to meet us. She told us that one of us had left a credit card at the table. She then escorted us to the door, unlocked it for us, and got the card for us before going home. Overall, a fantastic experience, I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Driving cross country, one doesn't expect to find a truly great dining experience in a Clarion Hotel. But, when you're in Grand Junction, that's what you'll get if you eat at Pantuso's in the Clarion Hotel. The meal starts with a delicious minestrone soup that even my 13 year old LOVED. Salad was okay, a bit too much dressing. We ordered the spaghetti and meatball, lasagna bolognese and manicotti. The spaghetti was good, lasagna a bit better, bur the manicotti was a true gift. Delicious food and excellent wine list. The spumoni ice cream was a perfect end to a great meal. Service was excellent and our server gave us a bit of the history of the restaurant. Thank goodness they reopened with Mamma's original recipes. Can't get any better Italian food.

Loved this place! I wish I could move it to California! Everything was sooo good. Be sure to get their Italian dressing on your salad. I had the manicotti - huge and delicious! Next time, I will order to share. Our server Mark was great. Indeed, everyone there was so friendly and attentive. NOTE: We didn't try the "flaming cheese" appetizer, but heard from others that it's a real winner! Pantuso is right next door to the Clarion Inn, a great place to stay.

What a surprise! Road trip from Denver to L. A. Fantastic food and great service. Everything homemade. I had the lasagna bolognese. It was spicy and flavorful. The servings are large and each entree is served with scratch made minestrone and a salad. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, including the alfredo sauce and cheese ravioli. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the baked cod, again, flavorful and cooked well. To end, the homemade Tiramisu was light, and delightful. We are very impressed with this small, modest restaurant connected to a hotel.

Nice selections on the menu. Lot's of homemade options. Garlic bread is great. Sunday evening specials require coupon from the newspaper with half off on the second Entree

This is old fashioned Italian American food drenched in crappy canned red sauce. It's like Italian restaurants I went to as a kid many many years ago in Chicago. The rest of the world has moved on, but not Pantuso's, nor Grand Junction.

Great house pizza. Staff was polite and prompt. Would consider again for our soccer team.

Just what the weary traveler needed! I was hungry after driving for 12 hours and the gal at the hotel recommended this place. It's attached to a Clarion Hotel and it has plenty of parking. I had a cold beer while I looked over the menu. Everything looked so good! I ordered lasagna with bolognese (?) sauce. Comes with soup, salad and bread. It was delicious! It was a fairly big piece and initially thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. Yea, right. I held myself back from licking the plate. It was cheesy, spicy and saucy! Just the way I like it! This is an italian gem in Grand Junction.

I took some family that was visiting me to this restaurant, and was disappointed. First of all, we had six adults with in our party and instead of having us wait a few minutes for a table big enough to fit us all, they pulled two tables together. The problem was that the two tables were different heights and one table had glass over it while the other table did not. Then they sat two people in the middle of the table right where the two met. Needless to say their plates were wobbly and it was very rude and uncomfortable for the people sitting there. We had mentioned this to a few of the staff and they did nothing. Finally we asked one of the staff why they just did not move us to a more accommodating table, and they responded by informing us that it was because the section we were in was next on their rotations and it was that waiters turn. I think our comfort is far more important than them dividing up the customers. After our complaints were ignored about the seating, we got our soup, I think they said it was "minestrone" it was so nasty and way too salty and I love salt. I have had better soup from a can. The food took forever to come and I thought it was bland and sloppy. No one at the table enjoyed their food, and it was way overpriced. Save your taste buds and wallet and go to the Olive Garden, it is 10 times better than this place.

Our motorcycle group rolled into town recently and we stayed in the adjacent hotel for the night. Our group dinner was scheduled at Pantuso's for 8pm.......local time. I rolled in at 9:10pm......local time, as I did a side trip into Utah before meeting up with them but forgot all about the time change going into Colorado, thus I arrived at the restaurant AFTER they closed. Both Jade, our server and Krista, the owner, were extremely gracious, pleasant and accommodating for this late arriving diner. Anyway, the food was delicious, the ambiance was relaxing and the service was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! We all enjoyed ourselves and unanimously agreed that we would definitely come back here again. Thanks for a job well done!!!

Came here for dinner with a group of 7. Instantly noticed the towels that are used in place of napkins at the tables....raised an eyebrow but still wanted to give them a chance. We were brought bread by a sullen waiter. This bread was like the flavorless fluffy bread sold at a grocery store. And to add insult to injury, it was served with margarine. MARGARINE. This is unacceptable for an Italian restaurant. Butter? Olive oil? Seems pretty basic. I could describe each dish that was ordered by my party of 7 but I'll just say: all of it was very unsatisfactory. Tasteless. Unseasoned. Overcooked. No one enjoyed their food. I can't recommend Pantusos. I won't return.

How nice it is to have this attached to the Clarion Inn and very, very close to other hotels in the area. If you've been traveling all day on the road, you can come here, relax and get a great meal. It's old style with nuanced lighting, crooner music playing and a fireplace which from my vantage point wasn't sure was being used. My manicotti was delicious and enough for two meals while my hubby loved his seafood something? Fettucine, I think. Sadly, as much as I would love to come here again, I probably won't ever get to since it's in another state. Bummer.

I drive trucks for a living and make the drive from Denver to junction weekly. I was turned onto this place by a buddy that worked here years ago. He always gives me different meals to try. I haven't had a bad meal yet. My favorite is lasagna bolonaise.

My fiance and I came in for the first time tonight as we wanted to try something new in town. The decor was pretty nice and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly and kept on top of things. The website and in room menu at the La Quinta, stated that appetizers are half off from 4-6pm. What it didn't state was it's only in the lounge area. Krista, the owner came out and apologized for the misunderstanding and gave us the cheesy garlic bread for half off. My fiance ordered the spaghetti and meat ball. He liked the pasta, but to him the meatball tasted like meatloaf and the sauce like Ragu. He also had a side salad that was supposed to be a caesar salad, but it was grilled. They switched out his salad for a cold Caesar salad. I ordered the florentine manicotti and a hose side salad with balsamic vinagrette. The salad was decent. The manicotti was ok. The sauce lacked flavor and the cheese and spinach filling was dense. The pasta rolls, looked like thick pieces of lasagna noodles that weren't cooked all the way. The cheesy garlic bread was french bread with garlic powder and mozzarella cheese and some parsley sprinkled on it. Would have been better dipping it in the sauce. Don't think we will be coming back here.

Last visited a decade ago. Food just as good as I remember. Service was much faster, though the ambience of the new digs is sort of chintzy. I'd come back.

We came here two nights while in town for the Wine Fest, mostly because the staff and how friendly everyone was- and it was walking distance from the Courtyard. The first night we ate in the dinning room and enjoyed the bread, the salad, the entrees, and the desserts! Not to mention the fabulous Pinot Noir they had! Yum. Everything was great. Huge portions! So full! When we came back again, we just went into the lounge where there wasn't a wait, and they had some football games on to watch. We enjoyed the Pinot Noir again, and got to taste a few other wines just to be sure we picked the right one. This time we ordered apps and split an entree because of the huge portions, and staying in a hotel with one mini fridge won't cut it for the amount of leftovers. Our server on this side, still super friendly, but you could tell they were def having some issues- just took a little longer- No major bother, this place is still a solid 4 stars in my opinion. The fried ravioli and the linguine and clams get's my vote for sure!

What a pleasant surprise!!! The food and wine were delicious and our server, Leslie was delightful and accommodating. We will make a point of staying at the attached Clarion because of the restaurant. Thank You Leslie!!! Tom and Cathe from Las Vegas, NV.

As road side hotel restaurants go, this is a pretty good place. The food is not going to change your world, but it was nice after a long day of travel. Wait staff were attentive and friendly.

The red sauce at Pantuso's could be best described as "taste-free". The bread is like eating styrofoam, (bad sign when an Italian rest. can't make bread.) I've lived in NJ so I know good Italian...and Pantuso's is not. Their soup was pretty good though, and our server was really nice, to end on a positive note.

I really wanted to like this place but there are pros and cons here aplenty. This review is based on a lunch experience. Pros -- very friendly and welcoming service from both the host and the waitress. Salad bar was well stocked with lot of good things. Meatball was outstanding - tender and well flavored and large! Also - the sandwich platters at the adjacent table looked great. Soup was good. The dining room was nicely appointed. Cons -- salad bowl size was ridiculous. It was a typical smallish cereal type bowl. I know they are trying to keep the serving size small, but it was hard to even get some of the items (like peppers) into the bowl. Once in the bowl, you couldn't toss anything. If they allowed multiple trips to the salad bar, or even used a flatter bowl, things would have been better. I'm not sure what it is with Grand Junction and one-trip salad bars. Are they afraid to give us healthy options? This complaint is city wide - even salad bar only places don't give you a second trip in spite of high prices. But, I digress. Just used to more generous salads available almost everywhere else in the country. I had the bowl of minestrone and salad bar. Soup was quite tasty and clearly made in house. Nice sized serving - big shallow bowl. Oddly, though the menu said it was served with bread and butter, I was given a fistful of saltine packets. In an Italian restaurant, I expect good and hopefully homemade bread. Not crackers. The salad was so tempting looking, but ultimately unsatisfying. I hated to just fill my bowl halfway to be able to toss it... but filling it wasn't good either. I'd say if you are trying to save money - give us a big bowl and don't put out all the meats and cheeses. Save those for the entree. My husband had the spaghetti with meatball. As stated above - the meatball was lovely. The spaghetti, however, was cooked to the texture of Chef Boyardee. The sauce was very simple - but lacked seasoning and had an overly acid taste. Texture was fine. The serving in the same size bowl as the salad bar, while big enough for us, would have been woefully inadequate for most people. The table next to us got meatball sandwiches. They looked good - loaded with the yummy meatballs, sauce on the side and lots of french fries. Seemed like a better deal and if the bread was good - I'd say this was the way to go. Bottom line, you can eat well here. But, you should stay away from the pasta. Keep your salad expectations to a small side salad from the salad bar. Enjoy the nice people and dining area, Eat more soup. Get the 2 meatball lunch instead of the spaghetti and meatball.

Great Food... Crappy service. The first time I came here it was because I was at a nearby hotel... They burger was amazing I couldn't wait to come back and try it again! Well fast forward to a year later and I'm back in Colorado and visiting the same spot for a great burger and to my surprise it's mediocre. I should of just went to Wendy's down the street I mean an hr to make a burger really? No thanks.

.This place has to have the worst customer service I have ever received, and it was from the OWNER "Krista". My wife and I checked in to the La Quinta in Grand Junction and asked the lobby for good food that delivers. I was advised to call Pantuso's has great service and delicious food and was given a menu. My wife and I looked at the menu and decided to order the following items while staying at the La Quinta, Calamari 9.95, Shrimp Diavolo 17.95 and Seafood Fettuccini 19.95 total before taxes 47.85. I asked how much my bill would be and I was told 52.35 and I would get my food at La Quinta in about 45 minutes. About 20 minutes later I receive a phone call from this restaurant, from what sounded like the person I ordered from and she said Ohh I'm Sorry I made a mistake on your bill we have to charge you 63 dollars. I asked why and she stated Ohh because there is a delivery charge of 2 dollars and gratuity of 9 dollars. I'm like What? I could understand the 2 dollar delivery charge but the mandatory 9 dollar tip kind of set me back. I always tip well but never heard of mandatory tip. So I said you know what cancel the order. I hung up the phone and told my wife what happened and she said call the manager. I took her advice and called back and asked to speak to a manager and to my surprise I had Krista the owner on the phone. I was happy thinking that there was just a misunderstanding and explained what just took place and that one of her employees gave me a price and then added money. This was my response from Krista, "I cant hear you, what did you say" . I could hear noise in the back round so I raised my voice so she could hear me, and explained about why my bill would change when I was quoted a price for food delivered.. Krista said this "Look I'm Busy I did not talk to you and I don't know what your talking about, nor do I care I'm busy and have no time for you". I tried once again to explain and Krista said with pure attitude look at your menu you are getting room service from me so I get 9 dollars for this delivery plus 2 dollars for the delivery. I asked if I could have the delivery for the original price given and Krista just excused me like I was inconveniencing her and said stop yelling at me I have a busy business to run and hung the phone up on me. I was like WOW. I would advise those who stay at the hotels in this area to never order here. I am 45 years old and never had such bad customer service from an "OWNER" in my entire life.

Maybe my taste buds are accustomed to a marinara with more zest. Maybe it was late in the evening near closing and we did not get their best so late. Maybe it was the take-out experience. Not sure, but it was very meh. Overcooked pasta. Blah sauce. Doughy bread. Boring salad. No parmesan. However, we were passing through the area staying overnight and my expectations were low and we were hungry, so on this it scored OK and definitely filled me up.

Impeccable ambience and cleanliness, and layout of tables is roomy and open. Great music and art. My $7 spag and meatball was delicious! Cup of Homemade minestrone soup ($4) and one-trip salad bar ($4) and $2 soda added up to a great lunch for $18. This place needs better signage outside though.

I've had great meals here withy family but I was disappointed with my private business dinner catered in the adjoining Clarion Inn. The presentation is very dated and they need to update their dinnerware. It felt like a cheap meal. Chicken Parmesan was excellent though!

We have eaten here before and thought it okay. This time we ordered a pizza to take to our motel room and eat. The dough was raw as were the onions that topped the pizza. Not too sharp for a reportedly Italian restaurant.

Worst Italian restaurant I've ever eaten at. The olive garden is better than this place and the olive garden is nasty. Try il bistro instead.

My friend and I thought we'd give Pantuso's another try since they have new owners. We were there on Monday, January 5th. We were promptly seated by a young man who was very unkept. Messy hair and dirty tennis shoes. Our server came over, but never mentioned any specials. When we asked her about the vegetables on the Fettucini Alfredo, our server "promised" us they were fresh not frozen. This was not true. They were definitely frozen re: broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. My Pignoli was mediocre at best. It was very oily. The other thing you need to be aware of is that the prices on the online menu are NOT the same prices in the restaurant, they are much higher. As for the ambiance it's not there.

Had a hamburger actually on suggestion from the waitress and was not disappointed, kinda surprised me coming from an Italian restaurant. Fries and spicy ranch could use some work but the atmosphere felt very Italian. Nice new owners.

Food was good, but the service was incredibly slow. To the point of being ridiculous.

  • Tom O.

The service, warmth and homemade pasta were excellent. The minestrone is an acquired taste that I don't have. The Bolognese was very hot (read extremely spicy). This was my second visit this week because I could not believe that they could consistently make the soup that bad. But - the pasta is worth the trip. On the first trip I had the veal parmesian, this was touted as being the best in the city - it was OK, but I think I should have gotten the chicken.

Once you get past the bathroom hand-towel-style napkins, Pantuso's offer yummy Italian food, a decent wine selection (large pours by the glass), and a unique dessert menu. My brother says, "If I lived in Grand Junction, I would eat here all the time."

I ordered the Veal Parmigana, my wife ordered the mixed seafood dish, we also ordered a garlic bread for an appetizer. The rolls we received with our minestrone soup were hard and stale. At first we thought they were just crusty, but they were hard all the way through. It seemed like they had been under a heat lamp for several hours. The minestrone had good flavor, but everything in it was complete mush. Honestly, it was what I would expect coming out of a can. The garlic bread was well toasted and had good flavor. Our salads looked like it had come straight out of a bagged mix, then they added a pepperoncini and put two halves of a slice of tomato. The ranch was very obviously something like hidden valley, and there was enough of it to drown a small child in. When we got our main dishes, I was completely underwhelmed. The sauce tasted tinny, as if it had come from a can. The breading on the veal was completely soggy, and the veal was flavorless and extremely chewy (if I hadn't known what the meat was supposed to be I wouldn't have been able to tell). The spaghetti served along side the dish was unimpressive, and was of about the same quality as the veal. The mixed seafood dish was of better quality, but not by much. The decor is straight out of the 80's. The "napkins" that they serve the cutlery in is actually a hand towel (yes, I am being serious). The quality of the food is something that I would have expected from a Denny's. I won't be back, and I recommend you don't go either (at least for dinner). Hit up the village inn within walking distance, you will have a better meal and it will be much cheaper.

Each time we're in Grand Junction, we have dinner here, and remain pleased and impressed. The food is excellent (my steak was flawlessly cooked to my preferred degree of doneness, my husband's veal piccata was delicious). The staff is remarkably friendly and attentive, as well as offering sound suggestions on choices from the extensive menu. They even had my favorite Zinfandel wine to go with my meal. No wonder it's said to be the best in town.

The BEST authentic Italian food since La Scala in Vegas 10 years ago - the service, the owners were amazing - checking after each course to make sure everything was great. We will be back in a week or so on our way back through from our vacation. We had Seafood Fettuccine and Chicken Parmesan for entrees but the salads were exceptionally good also.

    (5)
  • Thor C.

The only thing that impressed was the friendliness of the wait staff. I tried a basic - spaghetti with Italian sausage. How difficult is that to pull off? Well . . . , The sauce was a bland puree that surely came from a can. The pasta definitely wasn't fresh, most likely out of a box. The minuscule sausage portion had the consistency of being previously cooked, and then reheated, at least once. I could have thrown together a tastier version out of my pantry and fridge at home! My sister asked our friendly server what the protein serving size was for her peppercorn steak salad, and didn't get an answer until every one else's entrees had arrived. Her order was never even placed. Ambiance was well dated with a small wall of famous-people-who-had-supposedly-eaten-there autographed photos, including the fictitious Artie Bucco from "The Sopranos" HBO TV series. Makes me wonder how many of those amazing reviews might be fictitious as well. Hmm. What do you actually expect from an airport hotel restaurant?

    (1)
  • Kristin L.

Great food, clean restaurant and great service! Entrees come with amazing homemade soup and salad. The desert is wonderful as well! we stopped on a road trip late ( right before closing ) they treated us so well. Definitely recommend.

We arrived in GJ late and asked our hotel for a recommendation. They pointed us to Pantuso's since they also delivered to the hotel. I don't know how to rate this properly. Since I live in Philly I'm used to excellent Italian food so I don't know if this is what is considered "great" for the area of if I should rate it based on my experience. In this case, I'm going to choose the later since it's a hotel restaurant next to the airport and chances are that at least 51% of its customers will be from out of town. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognase and garlic bread. It came with Minestrone and a salad. That came to 22$ and they included the delivery charge (2$) and gratuity up front (not a fan of that). I should have went to he Wendy's across the street instead. It was a heated hot plate of noodles with a funky crumbled meat slop thrown on top. The garlic bread was stale and hard crusty slices of what I'm assuming is Italian bread. Chef Boyardee would have been embarrassed to see and eat this. I hate giving bad reviews but I just have to believe the folks who gave this place 4 or 5 stars either know Olive Garden as top notch or just haven't had a good plate of pasta. We ate some of the meal and, regrettably, just couldn't stop laughing, +1 star for the friendly girl who took my order over the phone and the nice guy who delivered it

I was in limbo at this place while traveling from my brother's wedding. This is the best hotel bar I've ever visited.(outside the one in Kearny, NB, were we stole beer from & later got arrested) The wait staff rules. Genuine & courteous. If I could've hung out all night I would have. These guys were so nice. The drinks were amazing. The food is untouchable. I really hope my next trip lands me through Grand Junction.

Who would have expected to find such a delicious place inside a Clarion in GJ, CO. I was going to head downtown to Rock Slide or the winery's place, but couldn't pass up Pantuso's menu. I had the saganaki and veal marsala. Both of them were delish, exceeding my expectations. One odd thing was that I asked about a corkage fee. They said they didn't have one. Then the bartender reversed course, but my wine was already open, so I was able to supplement my one glass with much of my own. Overall, hit it up even if you're not at The Clarion. Very authentic, wide menu variety, and such a find.

Admittedly, hotel restaurants usually aren't my thing even if they have all the bells and whistles. When we arrived at the Clarion Hotel in Grand Junction after 12 hours of driving, expectations for supper were alarmingly low. I would have been pleased with something on par with Little Caesar's as my only requirements were: food, no driving, no effort. I sauntered down the hall from my hotel room and was surprised to see one of my favorite bottles of pinot noir on the wine list. From there, everything was fantastic. Our server was prompt and quickly delivered a cup of minestrone soup. The bread was great (bread is always great). We had manicotti and the steak salad, both were devoured. Pantuso's is a great hotel restaurant. It is a SHOCKINGLY GREAT hotel restaurant once you find out it is in the Clarion Hotel. I'd stay there again. I'd eat here again. You go, Pantuso's.

Had huge expectations for "one of the best italian restaurants in Colorado." What a joke, if the bathroom towel napkins don't turn you off the burnt steak that can't be cut with a knife will definitely leave you guessing. Save your money, try somewhere else.

What a surprise! A great family run restaurant adjoining the Clarion Inn. Your first thought is "can't be that good." But it is. Separate ownership from Clarion. Current owner has owned it since the 60's. Don't miss the eggplant parmigiana. An award winner. My wife and I split given the generous proportion. Ask for Krista. Great personal service. This is one of those where you say "we'll come back again."

We were looking for another restaurant we had heard of (apparently they r down on North now) and happened in. The stars are me trying to be nice. The kid that served us tried. Salad was wilted. Soup was alright (turns out it was the only thing I got down). Lasagna was a soggy, smothered mess in my humble opinion. Why go on? Won't be back guys. Sorry.

I've been hearing about this place for years and finally got a chance to eat here on Christmas Eve. The owner is a Greek Italian and he caters to his Italian side of the family. Our daughter was not impressed with her "straw noodles with white sauce" from the kid's menu. She loved my minestrone soup, however, and the bread. My husband ordered the lasagna and groaned as he ate it. I had the dry steak rolled around some kind of dry meat loaf, re-heated, then smothered with marinara for flavor and moistness. I wasn't thrilled. Will we be back? Probably. It's one of the nicer places in town. Greek night on Mondays has got to be better. Dare I try their baklava?

Excellent, homemade food. Minestrone with an amazing broth base, uncluttered with too much pasta. I will buy a quart of this if I get sick! Great village style Greek salad (no lettuce) with very good feta. Owner/chef is on site. Anxious to try their Greek entrees, as I have a Greek background. Great place for lunch with a large group too.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
